I need to cut a notch for my downpipe before I start installing turbo(because I have to drive to a friends to use his cutting torch) I dont want this step holding me up. Does anyone know exactly what needs to be cut off? Pics?
My setup is Full Race. Thanks
My suggestion is that you take the crossmember off…put the turbo w/the downpipe on…and then find out what needs to be cut. From there you can either smash it in with a big hammer or go to your friends…its really easy to take the crossmember off.
Check the thread about the one we just did…Allan has some pics of the notch and plate we did for him.
Thanks for the help guys.
here is a pic of the notched out crossmember that Josh did.
Here’s a couple of pics of my crossmember…
nice work… nice to see people taking the time to weld in reinforcement.
Does anyone have a pic of a crossmember notched with a full race kit(downpipe is on the passenger side) My kit has come in and it looks like the front motor mount is in the way. Im not sure about notching that close to the mount. Is it o.k. to cut that close? :hmm:
What stage kit did you go with?
I have the Stage 2 Full Race kit.
nice notch
remember to box the notch back up, other wise you get all sorts of structure stress and rust issues.
Thanks again for all the help guys, I found someone that can do it for me.
Well, heres a a couple pics of one we just did…
