I have been getting quite a few emails regarding the 3 and 4in downpipes we have done for g2’s, and how to properly retain thge factory crossmember. Well, the easiest way to put a 3in in there, is to hit up my Full-Race Traction Bar GB Anywho, here are a few pics of the general layout, and the location where we make the notch and reinforcement in the x-member. We charge 150 to do this mod to the factory crossmember, so if you are looking for a shop to do it, expect to pay this much. If its cheaper, be weary, it takes awhile to do this right. This is the DP and X-Member we did for Allan(nosintegra92). All 3in Stainless, Flex and Vband…
THIS IS THE KIND OF WORK I LIKE  NICE JOB
I’m sorry I suck at seeing things, Can you describe the reinforcement? Thanks, nice job btw.
Holy snaps… when I get boosted, Ill be getting ahold of you to notch my crossmember… very nice work.
Josh you are the man. One of the best mods done to my car…
can you get us some better pictures… since Ive decided to boost, Im looking more into these sorts of things. Thanks man…
What material did you use to reinforce the cross member? I’m putting together my turbo project within the next month and plan on notching the cross memeber, just wasn’t sure what to reinforce it with .
quickda6, well-done on the crossmember notching! But like you mentioned earlier, the full-race setup is the way to go. I could fit a 5" downpipe if I really wanted to!
BTW, are you able to get deals on full-race products, other than the traction bars? I’ve been eyeing up the back-door intercoolers. . .
pdc125- We take a piece of 3in stainless we use for the downpipes and cut a 4.5in piece off. Then we split it down the middle, tack it to one side of the notch, and massage it into place with a mallet. Easier said then done, but we have it down to a science.
92notec-I can give you a deal on any full-race products, we are one of the three biggest dealers in the country and have the deepest discount possible. I have both the 8in and 11in intercoolers in stock. Email me at josh@fsmoto.com for pricing and questions.
