i actually heard good things about the modded edelbrock headers. a bunch of the jackson racing guys run them.
how can one stainless header be better than another? the actual metal used. how equal the lengths truely are. least possible bends. step design. collector design. mainly on 4-1 headers, megaphone too.
it fits with no mods at all. i obviously have p/s & a/c. there is maybe a 3/4" clearance from the front crossmember. i’d assume the non-tec header will fit. i just bought the gsr version for my car. its part# 6752, i think
they all fit with no mods to your crossmember/ the only possible mod would be the length of the header vs. the exhaust system. you might have to mod the length on your mid pipe.
I have a Megan Racing 4-2-1 stainless, like it a lot, scratches and dents very easy though, and as with all stainless headers, be sure to clean all the oil off the outside from the manufacturing process as well as anytime you touch them and get oil from your hands on them, it burns and turns the spot where the oil was this nasty brown color.
Anyone have the DC 4-2-1 2 piece header? I swear I’ve seen something about notching the crossmember a few days ago about this header or could have been the 4-1 header? But I can’t seen to find it anymore. SO with that being said, will the 2 piece 4-2-1 DC sports header fit? no problem?
i have a 4-1 headers on my teggy right now but im going to put to put 4-2-1 megan headers. i would say to go with megan headers. there one of the cheapest best headers out there but nobody thinks it. and right now im going to put 4-2-1 megan headers performance wise well logically it sounds and makes sense that the 4-1 headers will give you better performance then the 4-2-1… but it doesnt matter any after market header you put will be better then the stock headers and no do not go with the ebay headers. there quality is not that good and they will proly crack on you
How it can it logically make sense that 4-1 header will give you better performance?
The design of the header dictates the power gained in a specific rpm range.
4-1 header will give power gains in a different rpm range than 4-2-1 and vice versa. Neither is better. It depends on where you want the power.
Same goes when people compare short ram intake vs. cold air intake. Each gives power in a different rpm range. You choose according to where you want /need the power in your set-up.
and what do you think mugen is? a crappy brand too?? im saying megan is one of the best cheapest headers at least thats what i think… and i haven heard that putting after market headers will make you loose hp. i could imagine that it would make you loose hp on an gsr or type r cause they come with good enough headers as it is but ill look up on that
