a starter really shouldnt lock up unless something breaks in it. did you check the cable going to it if it has a lot of battery acid? it works its way from the battery end to the starter through the cable and kills the starter.

hummmm… i think i looked at the wires, and didnt see any green/yellow/white…
but yea alan, if a car sits for a while, the starter should still be able to work just fine…
