What’s up with your link, I zoomed on satellite and it’s the freeway edge?
Close but its the one in Surrey on Fraser Hwy.

16139 Fraser Highway , Surrey , BC V4N 0G2

Easy for people from the US to get to as well, Pacific Hwy from the Truck Crossing, left on Fraser Hwy, thats it.

It’s a really big lot.
Check the above links links. Don’t see how we can meet in the middle of the freeway. We need help to be pulling this together. Again I would like some place picturesque to show off our rides, perhaps somewhere near the river would suffice for a quick convoy.

And, for all us 206 characters, news to me that I can take my existing WDL, bring my birth certificate, and $15 to the DOL and get the new “Enhanced DL” for entry into the great Province to the North. Won’t be misplacing my only copy of my BC along the way. Check it out a wa.gov, also a link there for border wait times.:bump:

It’s not on a freeway, it’s off of a highway - as in - a major street/through-way with stop lights at every major intersection. Look closer here. For a more picturesque spot for photos, one could always go to Alouette Lake or Jericho Beach like in past meets afterwards, but Steve’s Tire shop is a good, central place to meet up.

Some tips from experience for the Washingtonians:
-As already stated, bring proof of U.S. citizenship or other citizenship plus U.S. residency or enhanced DL. They are less forgiving if you forget to have this proof present as you go back into the U.S. so avoid any hassels and make sure you have that. I know the enhanced DLs (both WA and BC) work going south to the U.S., but can’t confirm if they work going north. If you’ve checked already ‘evtsteward’ with the DMV or better yet - CBSA for Canadian entry, then that would be real convenient for you guys.

I’d take the Pacific/truck crossing (exit 275 from I-5 north) since it is usually less congested. They are doing major border construction at the Peace Arch/Douglas border crossing right now gearing up to the 2010 Olympics. Wait times can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours on a Sunday, unless you have NEXUS like I do.

-If you have FRS two-ways, I’d bring them along as some of the BC guys have them and will make it easier to keep in touch with one another while travelling in a pack and avoid getting lost in Metro Vancouver (unless you want to pay outrages roaming charges on your cell).

I have other commitments that weekend but will be in the area that day and will stop by if I can. My car however is not picture worthy.

Yah thats a perfect map to show its location. Fraser Highway isn’t actually a highway, just a regular 4 lane street. The Kal Tire is pretty much at the intersection of Fraser Hwy and 84 Avenue. It is on the right side of the street if you are traveling westbound.

As for going to take pictures somewhere, there aren’t a lot of picturesque places in Surrey that can hold 30+ cars that I know of anyways.

That’s just a good meet/eat spot, I’d recommend heading up to Alouette Lake for pictures and a good cruise, since we did Cypress last year and there’s nothing to do up there.

How many miles beyond the Tire Store to the lake and do you guys sell a one day fishing license (hehe)? Want to know how much gas I’ll need since I’m sloshing in from the states

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=16139+fraser+hwy+surrey+bc&daddr=Alouette+Lake&mra=cc&dirflg=h&doflg=ptk&sll=49.25388,-122.578605&sspn=0.427563,0.85144&ie=UTF8&z=10

So Is there a final date yet?

Alouette for sure!! and yes you can get 1 day fishing license!

Alouette Lake is one heck of a Trek. I might beed a hotel room after all. Dang it says 5.5 hrs to Surrey and then another 2.25 to Alouette.

I hate to pull the gas card but that seems like a crap ton of fuel. I hope everyone shows up.

Alouette Lake is good but pretty far. Would have to take the route through POCO cause the Albion ferry wouldn’t be able to fit all the cars I believe, ie. people would get left behind?

How about Cultus Lake? About 1 hour drive from Surrey, don’t have to cross any bridges, usually a decent amount of parking in the lot closest to the family area

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&saddr=16139+fraser+hwy+surrey+bc&daddr=Cultus+Lake&hl=en&geocode=&mra=ls&dirflg=h&sll=49.144885,-122.617722&sspn=0.218296,0.617981&ie=UTF8&z=10

The map shows a different route but obviously the quickest and easiest way is straight down Hwy 1

If there is a decent amount of parking like you say, I say we go straight there. It would shave an hour off the drive time.

After meeting at Northgate we can drive up to Bellingham and then take the 542 to the 9 and cross the border just East of Abbotsford.
Thanks BMXman. Along with the plastic in blue I will need the passenger side A-Pillar “oh shit handle” in Palmy as well.

Thanks for checking.
sorry nothing but tan and grey :tsk:

lol…:bigread:

 Thanks for trying.

x2 less waste.

A simple given date would have been much more appreciated, jackass.

Aug. 24th Mike!
