For those of you who carry spares, remember to check the pressure periodically. This is the one area on my car that I have admittedly neglected, even though I consider myself to be very good with maintenance. When I checked mine it was at 10 psi! No way to drive home on that!
too late
ha ha, just my luck
i wish you had reminded me about a month ago. In the fall (around september) I usually take my summer rims off and put on steel wheels, but we have been having a pretty warm winter, and since I’m so lazy, I figured that I would wait a bit.
In January, I’m on my way to write an exam, and guess what happens??
Flat tire.
Oh s h i t.
Well, its not that bad, I was going to school early, so I could get some last minute studying done. Well, I get out my jack, and guess what??
My spare tire is flat.
Werd. It was only when I got my first flat that I realized I had been negligent in checking the pressure in the spare. Luckily I also had some of that spare-tire-in-a-can which got me through until I get the tire replaced altogether (free since it was still under warrenty).
i carry a small 300psi tire infaltor… so no worries for me.
I checked mine a few months ago and it didn’t even get a reading for the tire gauge but I’m glad I did check it because I’m using it right now.
