Aftermarket radiator for auto tranny

Hi,

Automatic tranny radiator have a built in cooler for the tranny. Since aftermarket radiator like Fuildyne doesn’t seems to have that cooler, what is the best way to cool the tranny then?? Do I have to buy a separate tranny cooler?

Thanks!

im sure most people use separate tranny coolers. its prolly more efficient too. you shouldnt really need a fluidyne on a daily driven car. the all metal OEM replacements will do fine.

I already have the Fuildyne rad… Bought it used real cheap.

I will check for a tranny cooler then.

Unless you do a lot of track driving, I think changing the tranny fluid regularly is good enough. More attention should be spent on cooling the motor oil, which many companies make oil coolers for it.

Keeping the ATF cool is critical to proper operation of the transmission. I’d use a small externally mounted one if the Fluidyne does not have one built in.

or if you don’t want it you could sell it to me cheap. =)

Haha! Don’t think so

I will buy a tranny cooler from Summit.

coolers for auto trannies driven hard can help a lot. supposedly it can extend its life twofold. it certainly doesnt hurt. they run about 50.

ok im not keeping an auto tranny but id like to know if its really worth it to use ss lines and an fittings? i think they sell the tranny cooler with the an fittings no that already but you still need banjo to an fitting connectors and all…is it worth it or noperz?

Don’t think so…

I never changed the rubber lines in my car and they still do the job…

Anyway, stainless steel lines are just a rubber line covered with ss. Fittings can be good on a really high powered application when there’s a lot of pressure in the lines.
