been almost a year since i last posted…heres the latest!
rust was starting to return on both my qtr panels so we cut out them out!
new sheet metal molded and welded on
bodywork on qtr panels
And my color choice is…
lexus/toyota Metallic Sage Green
now the fun part, time to put everything back together
attention to detail, new emission decal
jdm side moldings, side mirrors, sidemarkers…check
both rear qtr glass mounted!

JUst went through all of the pages. great build, but I have to ask. Is it that bad with rust on cars. I read that the quarter panel rust had already been repair and it lookd like it got repair again when the car got a change of color. Its only about 1-2 years of difference in the same location.

Considering how old the car is, it’s common. Especially the qtr panels, among the roof trimmings,trunk where the spoiler bolts up, and also under the side moldings
First one was done without the windows being yanked, he worked around the glass and only grinded off what we could, the rust still grew from under
We got hooked up actually, the painter is my bf’s old boss. They use to work together

That makes more sense. If it was only worked around the window the rust started to spread again after the new patch was welded.
