how come yours don’t have the metal brackets

excellent question. i have no idea. the car has had it since 1990…

actually maybe it does… ive never taken it out before. they mite be under the carpet or something…

yeah it could be under the carpet. so does this prove that 90-91s are the same as 92-93s. i think so. anybody else

i would say yes…

It doesn’t prove anything until it’s shown how the armrest is mounted. The person who owns the car doesn’t even know how it’s mounted lol

well ive never felt the need to take it out for any reason. and im not going to mess with it for the hell of it.

so yea, im not sure if it has the brackets but i think its a safe bet to assume it does because its not connected the ebrake cover so it has to be mounted somewhere…

It obviously has the bracket because the plastic cover gets bolted to the bracket. I don’t care about the bracket I just want to see if your 91 integra has mounting points from the factory for an armrest

I am 99% sure that armrest did not come on the car in 1990, Unless you are the original owner or have seen it in the car before 1992. My 1990 DB1 had the same kind of armrest wrapped in matching black leather, But it was put on the car by the original owner after owner ship for afew years.

I’ve seen catalogs for the 1990 Integra’s and the only armrest was the little flippy thing… And the metal bracket is under the carpet. That one was installed properly.

My guess is it was put in by the dealer 2 years after the car was purchased… Probably by the first owner who got wind of the OEM arm rest and asked the dealer for one.

yeah that was what I was thinking too.

i just got an armrest out of my cousins 92 4dr. and i have a 90 2dr… and i couldnt find the mounting holes under the carpet. it should have a 10mm and a phillips scew on each side. i made it work tho  but yeah no mounting holes.

well im not the original owner but when i say its been on there since 1990 im saying that the 91 was released in 90, correct?

and maybe the original owner got it put in. i have all the original paper work from when the car was still brand new. from what i found out about the original owner is that he was a wealthy white man living in the boonys in orlando…

but ill try and pull the carpet back and see whats goin on with the armrest and show you guys…

hey, you don’t have to pull the carpet back, all you have to do is take off those two mini phillips screws, one on each side, and maybe open the cupholder part and theres like a couple of bolts.

There are only 2 armrest designs, The little flippy that was a factory dealer option from 1990-1991 that goes on the driver seat.

Or the center console that screws to the floor, I don’t think any DA/DB had the holes pre-drilled. Self tapping screws were used. The center console was a option for 1992-1993. It is possible to put the 90-91 armrest on a 92-93 as it is possible to put a 92-93 armrest in a 90-91. Both are easy to do.

DA_All_Day, Thus meaning at some point some owner in its life after 1992 went into the dealership and ordered the armrest you have and had it installed or did it him/her self… But done “cleaner” then mine was as they didn’t slice up the carpet.

Don’t worry about pictures, I took some of mine in 2005 for a similar conversation… Here is how it is installed.

I got the same piece of shiet installation on my da9, but to tell you, my 92 gs has original pre-drilled by acura, only the 2 front holes were and the back has yellow gold metal caps, you could tell the difference between someone drilling and oem. If you want to see them I’ll take a pic of it since I leave my armrest off and don’t use it.
