Any body have experience with removing bondo?

Just wondering if it’s possible to remove bondo? i have a electric sander would that possibly take it off faster? just wondering if i could get something looking the way it did before bondo was applied

the easiest way to take off bondo (especially a large area) is with a buffer. You need a professional style buffer/polisher like they use at bodyshops and good detail shops. If it has a velcro pad on it, that would be the best. You will want to use a 24 or 36 grit sanding/grinding pad, you should be able to find these at a hardware store or tool place. Be careful not to leave it in one spot for too long, this will generate alot of heat and can warp a big panel.

I don’t really have access to a larger buffer, and the stop that i would be removing would be very narrow for a buffer, any other idea’s?

where is the spot that you need to remove bondo from. Do you have an air compressor?. A small angle grinder with a 32 grit would do it. Check the link. If you don’t have a compressor, you could go to checkers or pep boys and pick up the adapter and discs and put it on the end of a drill. This will take longer since the drill doesn’t spin as fast. These are also badass for polishing parts if you get the scotch discs too.
