ok guys, i got the money to buy a tranny,but don’t know what i want. i want a gsr tranny so off the line i’ll be quicker,but lose top speed, or i can get a lsd tranny. now remember im not vtec i only have a stock b18a1 might step up to a turbo not sure thats later down the road ,so what kind of tranny should i use. and what is a ys1 tranny, and will that work, or should i get a stock gs tranny help?
If you’re planning on slapping a turbo on that engine, get the LS tranny, cause with a turbo, you want longer gears, not shorter ones.
agreeing with b17gsr… if you plan on boosting u want the longer gear ratio from a LS. but if u’d like a trade off, the ys1 tranny from a gsr or XSi would be a good choice… short yes but the gears are still well placed for a turbo set up, granted that is if you can locate one as they are the rarest of the rare.
