r they any good for boost?
They are the ones who came up with the forged pistons that can be used in stock H22 blocks without messing up cylinder walls. From what I hear they are overpriced…and from Germany I think…?
there quality is very comparable to SRP pistons. high silicon content for low expansion rate, just not as strong as low or NO silicon content pistons(CP, JE, wiesco, etc.) they would be good for lower boost(<400whp) applications
i think they are a little on the pricey side, but yes i have heard of them. the hypereutetic(high silicone) design allows a tighter piston to wall clearance and less piston slap, but as said they generally can not handle very high hp such as other forged pistons can
I’ve heard of those too, very good from what I hear but I went and got Probe racing forged pistons because I was told that they could handle alot of boost. is anyone familiar with these? besides JE , SRP, and CP pistons, what’s been working good with our cars and boost?
i have quite a few customers runnning Mahle’s. We have cars into the high 500’s with them, and no failures as of yet. I have a few sets of their pistons in stock and they arent overpriced IMO(500 w pins and rings). Dont get me wrong, i sell mostly cp, but here is why the Mahle is a good deal:
1.They use a tool steel wristpin standard (cp is 25 per piston to upgrade to those)
2. They have an “x” forge desing which makes the pistons lightwieght. The skirts are shorter, and the wristpin is almost a half inch smaller than cp’s(which is where most of the wieght in the piston is).
3. They are the only pistons forged with these types of coatings. All other companies have their coatings outsourced.
Personally, i think these pistons are better suited towards all motor becuase the coating on the skirt promotes better piston/wall contact. They only come in odd sizes too, there is no 84mm, only 84.5mm which is 10-12 week backorder.
If you really want a nice piston, we use BME(Bill Miller Engineering) for our high end pistons. These are custom one-off sets and he primarily makes nascar and prostock pistons. Pretty exotic stuff, but carries a healthy price tag(800+).

thanks for ur reply im getting them 81mm 9 to 1
