anyone running a lovefab manifold

anyone runnin the lovefab shorty mainfold i am and i need to know what your set up is other than you need a civic or fluidyne radiator what did you do about the fan i need pics asap because i want mine done the stock fan i think will be in the way for the downpipe since the manifold makes the turbo come almost straight off the head let me know asap thanks.

Wow that’s wierd. Usually the reason people get those log manifolds is because you don’t have to replace the radiator. The flange is usually on the bottom keeping the turbo away from the radiator… really wierd.

The “fan” you’re talking about is the condensor fan which would be in the way. If you have A/C and plan on keeping it then you should look into trying to get a flange with an extension that points downwards so you won’t have any worries.

If you’re talking about the radiator fan (the one on the passenger side) then you can just use a Civic fan if you were to do a Civic radiator.

that looks great! i was thinking about going with the blox cast manifold, but this looks much better for flow… how much is that manifold going for if you dont mind me butting in and asking?

im talking about the civic radiator fan that the downpipe will hit it ill probably just cut part of the shroud out and the manifold was 160 shipped on ebay lovefab made the manifold then quit making it for a year and now they are making it again on www.lovefab.com it is going for 350.00

here’s my setup with the shorty lovefab…stock radiator but i have to put the slim fans in front of the rad…and i also took my a/c out… hope this helps…

Nice setup, and nice filter. What is that… thin mesh?

thanks mang…yes that’s my old screen mesh filter…i have installed a regular filter since.

Not a bad way to spend $10,000, lol, just messin.

yah that would work but my turbo is flipped around so the downpipe is going to be right by the radiator and it has a internal wastegate so i cant turn the turbo down to run intercooler piping

If your flange will let you you should be able to flip the turbo around so it works like that one pictured. You’re right though, you can’t “clock” the turbo because of the internal wastegate.

You can always fit the intercooler piping in there, but you’ll have some undesired bends. Put a slimfan on the opposite side of the radiator to have a push effect on the airflow.

Or… just bolt up the turbo to the manifold real quick and take a picture. See what we can come up with.

i wanted to run the same set up but the turbo hits the radiator when i flipped it…half size radiator will be perfect though…

denico, you seem like you have enough clearance for a/c. did you take it out just because or did it not fit?

I think his downpipe would be in the way.

i took it out just because…

DENICO- how did you get the filter on there? with my 57 trim bolted onto the lovefab shorty, the inlet of the turbo sits on the block. did you wind up notching yours out? also is your turbo flange perfectly straight? mine is kinda angled a little so it puts the turbo closer to the block on the drivers side

the manifolds are nice. i bought a used one for 200, but one of the welds on it was cracked open. it looked like there wasnt enough filler used. no problems though, i had a friend go back over it real quick

^^^yes i notched that little web so i can fit the filter on there…my shorty is angled towards the rad a little, the only problem i had was tightning the back nut for the dp flange…
good luck with your project…

ill take some pics of mine soon

DENCIO… do you have pics on how you ran your oil return line??

this is the only pic i took for the return…

aight thanx…heres sum pics of mine

well i have everything kinda mounted while i drive an mr2 i just picked up for 100$ i need a slim push fan because there is about 2 inches between the downpipe and the radiator but the other question is can i take out the mount going from the crossmember to the tranny??? that is the only way i am going to get my downpipe to bend underneath the car help me please
