Im not sure how effective this would be at cleaning the valves, cranking the engine to the point where the vavles are open was just an idea. It might make the ATF go everywhere- ie the exhaust manifold and intake manifold. I would also pull my O2 sensor and install a plug if I were to do this ATF trick to my car. The burning of ATF might cause some bad residue to be deposited on your sensor. Also I would use a test pipe in place of my catalytic converter until the smoke subsides just to be safe. DATT is right, you should change your oil after you try this as some ATF will make its way into your crankcase. Sorry I forgot to list that last step in my first post.

cat and 02 can take the abuse for the 5-10 min your exh. will be smoky. the #1 killer of cats is running rich and the #1 killer of 02’s is minor coolant leaks ( burning coolant that is). but we leave everything intact when we do carbon cleanings.
dattegbol- I’m usually overly cautious about these kinds of things, and I have a bung plug and strait pipe sitting in my garage so… Good to know it is not necessary though.
x4evawizex the sea foam has dir. but it may be for a carb. but it won’t damage the hose on the brake booster if you suck it in through their. you can also stick the sea foam in the crankcase as a cleaner or in the fuel tank so it runs through the inj. but nnot as effective as suckin it through directly into combustion chamber through intake. you’ll have to use a screwdriver to kick the idle up a bit so it doesn’t stall out. your car will smoke . just let the last 1/3 of the bottle sit in the eng.(by stallin) for about a half hour and go beat on it till the smoke stops.
did you try run rite or top engine cleaner( you can find top engine cleaner at any gm dealer). most everyone should have type f trnny fluid its for old fords b4 mercon came out.
