auto tranny problem

hey, I have an auto tranny and usually drive in s3/s4 . I was driving home from a concert tonight and at about 40 mph the tranny would keep switching from s3 to s4 and then to s3(the lights in the dash changed and I didn’t even press the button). I’ve been having a few problems(downshifting into 3rd at about 100 mph) since the axles were replaced. I’m thinking maybe I need tranny fluid, but does it have to be honda tranny fluid? if it’s not the fluid, what else could it be? thanks

yes only use honda atf. or that redline stuff if youre daring i guess.

dont know what else it could be, but i do see a pattern of ignition/shift problems with our cars. ie stuck key cuz it wont engage park for a while… ive been to lazy to actually adjust teh shift linkage as suspected, and i dont think anyone has 100% confirmed it would fix it. a few times while in park mine did the same thing, s3 > s4 and back a few times.
so other than adjusting the shift linkage (its in your haynes manual) the only other thing i can think of is your alarm. do you have ignition kill installed? i have a viper 500esp and i wouldnt be surprised if it has something to do with it. just no strange things have ever happened while i was driving like you. hth
