i had a USDM B16A in my car and pretty much killed it…Anyway so im getting a JDM b16A installed right now…whats the difference? i hear JDM is more aggressive than USDM…Are they the same horsepower and torque? thanx
a first gen (Sir-I) JDM b16a will have 10.2:1 compression, 160hp, 111ft/lbs…just like your USDM engine you had before. if you are getting a second gen (Sir-II) it will have 10.4:1 compression, slightly more aggressive cams, 170hp, and 116 ft/lbs
im guessing you are getting the first gen…so it will probably feel the same

also the gen 2 b16 is a hydro tranny…make sure that you find a b16a1 tranny
Not all Gen2 B16’s were hydraulic. Some came with YS1 trannys.

you might wanna double check that one…if it was a cable ys1 tranny on b16a2…then the tranny came off b16a1
1st generation b16 160hp cable tranny
2nd generation b16 170hp hydro tranny

umm Elmer is right dood and u need to double check your info… i know i got my ys1 tranny from a front 93 DA clip which had a 170 b16a motor with a grey plug pr3 ( yes there are grey plugged pr3’s people ) and how do i know for sure? coz i pulled it out from the clip myself ( we had the whole clip in my friend’s garage ) as far as a ys1 tranny coming off a b16a1 is wrong… i’ve only seen the prized ys1 on b17a’s or JDM grey plugged b16 motors remember its all about the plugs… white plugged b16’s usually come with y1, s1, or j1 trannies . remember its all about grey or white… the tranny only really tells u what chassis the motor/tranny came from… but even then that stuff can be changed…
