okee, my 90 gs has 160000 miles on the engine, what would be the most cost effective/ performance oriented option. Plug in a b17 ( it would be a basic direct drop and bolt in right) as opposed to putting a new or newer b18 in and modding that. I would love the vtec which is why i was thinking b17 but i dont know! assistance por favor!
…
yo take the b17 is sweet, or get an LS/Vtec. I have the b17a on mine
you realize that post didnt help at all. You just regurgitated information. What you posted was exactily what i posted.

It all depends on what you goal for your car is. A fast daily driver that’s smog legal, go with the B17A. It (the motor) is a straight drop in. It won’t be “plug and play” though. Your car, like mine, is no-ODB, but the B17A is ODB1. To make it legal, you need to convert to ODB1. The alternative is the “Hook-up” method of registering and smogging your car.
If you want to go crazy with a turbo setup, get a B18A. It has no VTEC which is better for forced induction because it has less (or no) valve overlap and lower cost to pay for your turbo setup.
It also depends on what kind of racing you want to do with it. Most sanctioned racing have rules on what modifications are allowed.
