B18C1 + Jackson =clearance probs??

  1. Will a Jackson Supercharged b18c1 fit in our tegs? Im just not sure if the supercharger will clear the firewall?
  2. And also what kind of horsepower numbers are we talking between a supercharged and a turboed b18c1, on mostly stock internals???
3)And how about a little poll here, what setup would you prefer, sc or turbo??
I’m looking for my car to be balls out in a straight line, so im not concerned with the “this is better for auto-x” or anything…I just wanna rape every T/A I see on the streets.

superchargers give you the power from the get go unlike turbos, they need time to spool up. Superchargers have a downside that they are fixed amount of hp to a certain extent, but if you get a turbo you can always get a bigger turbo if more hp is needed. You can’t get a bigger supercharger, sure there are upgrades, but thats it. Turbos you can always go bigger! That is the only advantage i see that the turbos have over superchargers.

Jackson SC’s will not fit no matter what engine you use!
Well, maybe if you used a d16 or something really small…but they wouldn’t fit with any engine that you would put in your car. The vortech SC will work though.

Well this is wrong you can put a JRSC in our cars there is a member of this site with one. Now the cost and trouble vs power output is not worth it. You have to move the master cyl. and have custom motor mounts made to tilt the motor away from the firewall for more room.
Point is it can be done.

Good point, but a pointless point because who would go through all that work? Even the guy who did manage to get the JRSC to fit into his G2 admitted that it wasn’t worth all the time, money, energy…
My point being it’s not even worth researching any farther so might as well say it won’t fit and save him some time. But you are right.

And I don’t think fitting the Vortech supercharger is worth the trouble too. Personally if you want crazy HP number, go for a custom turbo, mix and match your parts together, and you should save yourself a lot of money and headache!

I agree, part your own turbo kit together. For stock internale you could get by with a dsm 14b and get a intercooler and have custom piping made. Also, you can pick what bov, fpr, wastegate, etc that you want and not what comes with the kit.

b18c1+rev hard stage 3+ball bearing upgrade= **** the supercharger!!! hehehehe… good point about the charger though. i spoke directly 2 both companies about the same thing. charger does fit but its not worth it…besides most if not all mechanics will choose a turbo over the charger.
