A friend of mine from work said I had some play in my passenger side upper balljoint an tie rod end.
Now question is, when I replace the ball joint does it replace the upper control arm too? and doesn’t it affect camber(like if the arm is bent)?

Yes and yes.
Upper ball joint does come with the UCA, and if the UCA is bent, it will affect cabmer, as well as possibly castor.

The upper ball joint can be replaced individual of the UCA. It is the lower ball joint that is 1-piece with the LCA in the front.
I know because I’ve looked into this because A:)I fucked up the threads on my lower ball joint replacing my axle and found out that it is a dealer only part for something like $150 because I have to buy the entire LCA. The upper ball joint can be bought from your locale parts store for something like $40 seperate from the upper control arm.
I too screwed up my threads on the lower ball joint. I bought a replacement at Autozone for little $ and had it installed on my original control arm.
ok cool, but would a bent upper control arm, cause positive camber? or would be it something else?
most I’m gonna check out locally to see where I can get the ball joint an if the upper control arm isn’t too much more, I’m gonna get that an see if it fixes my camber problem
Well, if the UCA was bent, it would shorten in lenght, and that would add negative camber.
If the LCA was bent, that would cause positive camber.
Which side do you need? I have a spare, mint condition UCA that, I am sure I can sell you at a price more appealing to you.
Let me know.

Perhaps it’s my lower control arm then, cause when I look at my passenger side front wheel, the top sticks out, positive camber.
if that’s the case then I’m just gonna get a balljoint to replace the an keep the upper control arm.
but if lower control arm causes negative camber when bent how does a camber kit work then? doesn’t a camber kit adjust/replace parts in the upper control arm?
BTW it’s the front passenger side.

A bent LCA would create positive camber, it would pull the lower part of the tire inward. There are 2 types of camber kits. One replaces the mounts where the UCA attaches to the car and allows it to go in and out. The other kit replaces the upper ball joint and allows the joint to slide in-and-out.
well I called around for a upper balljoint an I couldn’t get one anywhere… but they had the lower one…
so I called the dealer an the Upper Control Arm comes with the balljoint an has to be replaced together…, but the lower balljoint can be replaced independent of the control arm.
