BLKACK1's Build Thread

No worries… Speaking of, look what showed up today.

11 inches of stopping goodness

Carl also lent me his replica try y header.

Honestly man I was just joking at the time but when you handed it tome. I was like “fuck it, why not” LOL. Promise you get it back in the same condition you gave it to me in

the old girl is in need of an oil change so I think tomorrow. Im gonna stay at work a little late and bolt up the calipers/rotors and do a final clearance check before I take them in for powder coating

I want upgraded brake stuffs :frowning:

Looks great man. What color you planning to get the calipers done in?

11"? They probably take up a lot of room I’ll take them off your hands for you.:]

Hell yeah Glynn! One of the reason why I love this car, it has been loved everywhere! Brakes, engine, suspension, nice and balanced.

I need to read up on Motul. I was thinking of AMSoil brake fluid, but that shit is pricy!

No worries on the header! Just have fun with the darn thing! Take a open header flyby video xD

HAHA, all I can say man is work hard and save you duckets. Ive been the A-typical Jew lately:giggle: no bar hoping, no eating out, saving every penny. it sucks up untill that moment when you get that box in the mail with your newest parts purchase

Ohh and there getting powder coated Black, of course

ill trade you for your rotas with the azenis

thanks carl, even in life. ballance is key  beside I figgure if Im gonna be going be boosting, I need some kind of way to put the reins on the old girl

to be honest, I only bought the motul cause it was a mater of convience. from what ive researched and im sure agazzi will back me up on this. any DOT 5 silicone brake fluid with do the job. I basicly paid and arm and a leg for a name, but fuck it

I brought the teggy to work today with the new rotor and and calipers. even though Gil shaved these carrier brackets down already, im gonna put her up on the lift later today and install the brackets and rotors to double and triple check clearences before I take them in for powdercoating. she will also be geting an oil change too, she a couple miles over due now:D

True that man, its totally worth it when you see what your hard earned dough has gotten you. And d’oh! I coulda guessed you going with a black powder lol.

I’ve been kicking around the idea of upgrading to bigger rotors and calipers… just can’t justify it :-Oas the car doesn’t ‘need’ them at the moment. It’ll probably go on the list of future upgrades. One piece at a time, yes?

belive me, these are totaly overkill for my current setup and even then. who knows how long till these go on. could be a week, could be a month… I still need wheels and tires that will fit over them! in fact its taken every ounce of self restraint in me to not spend my extra check this month for the ones I want. haha Hawk HP+ pads and blank rotors have done a stellar job of bringing the car to a halt even at those hard track days and they have pleanty of life in them, So im not trying to be in too much of a rush to get them on.

man do work, i wanna see you turbod befor i get home and put mine on lol

Must be nice lol

Shit is bad ASS! LMAO. I wanna ride around HPR when that’s done and over.

And, yes, since everyone is SOOO excited. I am engaged.
LMAO

It’s a sapphire, btw. Set in silver. Diamonds may be forever, but they’re cliche.

haha congrats matt…

you and me both. so close I hear the PSHHHHH!!! of the BOV

I ended up getting it somewhere else but thnaks as always…

Its not a wilwood kit, it just came in a wilwood box.

not sure yet but how sweet it will BE

PSH, no love for the awesome ring? Some friend you are.:squint:

Yeah, yeah, I know::whore:

On with the good stuff

been putting in lots of work and got a couple new parts for the build in the last couple weeks.

lets start with the work. Both carrier brackets had been trim down a bit but there were still major clearance issues. the left side bracket was even having contact with the rotor. I had to take away a little extra material cause the powder coating will need a millimeter or 2.

getting started on the left rotor

most of the work was done with a grinder and a cut of wheel but it just wouldnt get back into the corner. so this is whats taken me so long to get the job done…

looking good

Now heres were i wised up. I found out if I gently use a sawzall I can remove a lot more material at a time. this speed up the process immensely

Scuffed up

filled down(not completely)

right side finished up

you will pardon me if I double post a pic as Ive taken so many that they have all blurred into one LOL

carrier brackets are done and ready for powder coating. just need to find a pass LCA and thell take that trip.

Im not sure if this is just as or an even cooler update.

new parts in.

Picked up a set of 15 inch fat fives from agazzi the other day and also ordered up some other goodies.

PTP turbo blanket :stuck_out_tongue:

mac valve to operate the boost by gear feature

I also gave a list of what push lock fitting I need to my buddy at pirtek and hes putting that together for me and my PWM kit should be here in a couple days aswell:rockon:

not much left on my list to buy, mainly some more raw material. aluminum for intercooler end tanks, misc fittings couple other odds and ends :whew:

Fucking bad ass, son.

My, that pepsi can looks awfully small next to that snail. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s awesome Glynn. Got everything in motion! Nice work on the calipers.

BTW, it was sooo much fun working on your car yesterday. Powdercoated suspension FTMFW!

congrats on gettin engaged
