I’m mocking up everything in the car, but final welding will be done on the spare motor/jig I’ve gotta build.
Final welding needs to be done now!!!
Wow… I daily drive mine. So there, or something. LMAO
Glynn, does this mean you’re taking the teg off the streets, or are you building the turbo motor out of chassis?
LOL, well I have to admit. you do got me there As Agazzi stated. all the fab will be done on the car and removed for finalization.
:hyper: omgomgomgomg :giggle:
THIS!!! someone get Mini’s whip :whip:
:::Updates:::
So ive been getting lots of work done. Finally got around to measuring the brake carrier brackets for a second time to see how much material I removed. Here are the numbers I recorded for anyone that cares… **** For the sake of saving myself from a bunch of questions. This is only the material that I removed, Im not entirely sure how much Gil actually removed and the “actual total amount removed” . If he’s around maybe he’ll would care to chime in on that.****
Right side bracket (mm)

17.32 — 14.15 Point A

Left side bracket (mm)

Next up, Did a little test fitting for Carl of his new header your gonna either need to run a slim fan or trim down the fan shroud buddy!
Going into more details on my traction bar issue, the drivers side lower bolt has been backing itself out. To a point where the the bar has a enough movement to lossen the 3 top bolts and slides back and forth and eight of an inch. The first time I delt with this. I had to take a cutting wheel to the steel tubing just to get a socket in there. This time I just hammered my striped nut remover in there since is just small enough in diameter and once again my socket wont fit in…
My prior attempt at fixing it. :bang:
Obviously another side effect of this sliding is that it bent the bolt. According to the guy at AAA the bolts they supply are case hardened steel, there good but I opted to upgrade and get a set of fully hardened bolts. you can see the slight bow in the one on the right.
I also picked up 2 split washers for those bolts and 6 split washers for the side mounts and some kind of lock tight as a extra security measure…
Nothing exciting here, just more parts needed for boost.
Got a lot of parts, now Ive gotta find the time to put in the work
hmm im gonna keep an eye on my traction bar bolts.
@ MrPenny and Mini!
Nice header Glynn! Thanks a bunch for checking it out!
Are you going to straighten the surface on the brakes out? Or is it good as is?
Goodluck on the traction bar man. Are you already using any thread locker on it? ppppphhhhhhttttt, sorry for all those questions.
Deceptakhan!! I need you to email me as soon as possible at slasher713@yahoo.com it is concerning the hiro spoiler. Please get back to me as soon as possible. Aswell as anyone that has contact to him please let him know to contact me. It would be much appreciated

of course man, as far as the brake clearence, no Im not gonna try and straiten it out any more at this point. theres plenty of clearencefor the rotor so thats good enough for me at the moment. Gezzz, talk about spanish inquistion :giggle: see below for the last question
HAHA, carls a lucky guy for getting it at such a steal!.
time for some :::updates:::
Finished getting the traction bar back in. I decided to purchase new bolts for the tow mounts aswell due to the fact the split washer was compacted flat on my old bolts.
Shiney
Got the exposed metal at painted.
I was going to use locktight to make sure the 2 long bolts wont back out and the guy at AAA recomended I try this stuff and gave me a couple of sample packets. prevents backing out and reusable.
While the car was on stands, I decided that I was sick of looking at the faded flat black bumper and that I was time to do something about the rusted bumper support holding it up.
I was just gonna go gloss black to match the front but I stumbled accross a can of Toyota green pearl and looked almost dead on from the cap. I figgured what the hell, why not…
this is the good side of the support!
little bit of prep,
Looks alot closer at night then it does the day. still looks alot better:up:
Lastly since Ive had a JDM front bumper support on my fireplace mantle since last DEC. Figgured this was a good time to put it on.
Double post
Triple Post FTMFW
i gota set of 90-91 blox lmk 8602024982
Dayum you’ve been busy! Looking good sir, in the daytime pic the color matches pretty well! And the weight loss!
Anyways, when you are done taking off the header, I’ll be needing the lip and bumper supports. As always, thanks.
Thanks man, but robis got a set for me. just gotta meet up with him. thanks for the offer though

Looks more blue then green to me  already got it off and mine back on, ill bring it down with me next sunday.
This thread could use an update, my laptop has been down but im still here
A couple weeks ago I finally got a chance to put on the jdm support and 90-91 blocks. for some reason. the bumper just wouldnt sit right, the drivers side had a huge gap from the fender and the hood had a serious overbite. after trying to realign it with no better results, I decided that putting the usdm support back on was a better option right now. I am gonna to need that weight up front when I boost anyways!
Finnaly got around to switching out my hatch and gas cap leavers for some that had clean black covers
Ohh La Laaa!
Made some more progress on the legend brakes.
picked up a remanned brake booster from another member on here.
All preped, painted and ready for installation…
new Master cylinder, booster/firewall gasket, booster cotter pin and 4 new lower rear cross member bolts(theres been something shifting under the car when I put it in reverse and even thought they seem tight, im hoping these might solve my issue, if not I really should have replaced them when I removed/replaced the cross member originally so no big loss)
Got some stuff back from powder coating.
Piston bores cleaned out and test fitting the pistons for free movement.
the other night I made an attempt at putting the new seals and boots in, but due to my noob-ness on rebuilding calipers I managed to rip one of the dust boots. Im gonna have to order one more rebuild kit. This job is nowhere as easy as I thought it was going to be. gonna do my research for a couple weeks and try what I find to be the easiest method. if anyone has any pointers, fell free to speak up…
Also got news that my other honda order just shipped out today and last but definitely not least. making plans to attend an open track day A HPR towards the end of august:manual:
There is no easy way to put the pistons in the dust boots, lol. I don’t know if you remember but when I freshened up my legend single pistons I fought with them for a couple days, LOL. I’ll come over there and show you what’s up, just like always…hahaha
+1 on that, Glynn. Sorry, wish there was an easy way to do it. I could swing by some night, let me know when you all want to do this, and I’ll do my best to come help.
