Blue smoke on startups

I recently installed new vavle stem seals, but it still smokes on cold startups. What could this be, and would a 20W-50 oil keep it from burning? Please help

at startup…CONDENSATION!!!

I don’t know how cold it gets in Texas but that 20w50 sounds a bit too heavy.I would go with a 10w50 or even 5w50 if you can get it.

Do they commonly sell 10W-50? It’s not condensation by the way, its blue smoke and its burning oil. Usually when it sits for 5 hours or more, it smokes untill operating temp or so. It might be worn valve guides. Anything you can do about that?

I think I replied before regarding the blue smoke…

YOUR PISTON RINGS ARE SHOT…

my motor went bye bye few weeks after it started to puff blue smoke on cold startups.
