My car is dying! The tach bounces not only at idle. I have tried the bouncing idle tip but my engine still bounces. Even if im at 4000rpms, the tach will bounce back down to 0 or 1000rpms and i have to take it out of gear and put it back in. I checked the computer and it is an ignition problem. Anyone else has this problem? The problem started after i fixed my starter.:vomit:
Are you losing power as the tach bounces back and forth? If so your igniter may be going bad. Watch out because it will leave you stranded. I have an 89’ Integra as well as my 90’ and I had that same problem with the 89’ There are ways to check the igniter to see if it is working properly. If you find out that it is the igniter have someone else do it unless you are very experienced in ripping our cars apart. It is not fun.
Do a search for distributor and coil problems to go along with idle. These are infamous for dying in tegs.

hey I had the same problem. Sometimes when I was idling it would just crap out on me. It would bounce all around and then would seem like the engine would want to die. Sounded almost like a harley at idle. Then when u pushed on the gas it wouldn;t rev or anything. What I found to be the culprit was that my coil was bad. I replaced the coil and my bouncing tach that I had going on for a whole year is fixed as well as the idle problem. Also it wouldn;t hurt to put some electrical grease to the electrical connections either. Hope you solve your problem. Peace.
I have the same problem rite now but i had some new cams and sprockets installed…Can that affect the idle?..the cam sprockets are dyno tuned…so i cant adjust them and i tried to adjust the distributer and that idnt work either…help would be very greatful…=)
uhh fast idle sensor? mine vibrated lose.
