Brake Trouble

Ok, it has been about 3 months now that I have been working on this trying to figure it out. First I had that moan in reverse and then the continuous chirping from the rear. So I replaced the pads with Wagner Pads and then machined the rotors. No problems anymore. Slight chirping came back. Applied noise dampening. I jacked up the car to check the ability of the wheel to spin. It was horrible, the wheel would spin and then stick and then spin and then stick. It was in two main spots on every revolution. I replaced the rotor with the cheapest one available through Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts and lubed the slides, etc. The noise went away for a bit and then this morning the chirping was worse than ever. What the heck is going on? Do I have a bad caliper? Or could it be the metal backing plate? PLEASE HELP!

Mike

you have a sticky caliper thats what it sounds like to me just buy a new caliper

Re check all ur pads and clips etc etc…

Visually check ur backing plate…
If I were u I would buy a reman caliper…

HTH…

replied to wrong post…sorry

First of check your caliper, By removing it and pressing the pedal (just to push out the piston, then realese), then hold the caliper on the piston and the back with a pair of water pump pleirs (big pair) , And release the bleeder valve, squeeze it slowly but steadily and feel if i sticks in anyway or wont go flush with itself, If it feels fine then replace you rotors (cheap rotors are thin and warp eaisily) esspecialy at high speeds  , c later
