Hey guys, I was hoping for some input. I have a built b18a that needs to be built again thats going to cost around $1100 this time around. But I found a built gsr swap for $1700. My question is, for the price difference, is it worth it to have a turbo gsr vs. a turbo ls? I know theres a post on this already but my question is based mostly on price. I also have a super 60 turbo, has anyone had experience with these on gsrs? will I have any problems with it? I heard it might fall flat on its face after 6500 rpms, will this hurt my tuning or anything or just make it not so torquey after it falls off? any input would be so much appreciated, i only have a day or two to decide! thanks a lot!
Get the GSR and worry about the turbo later…
Well its somewhat of a worry for me due to the fact i dont have the $$$ to buy another turbo.
the gsr will put down more power then the ls at a lower psi then the ls…it will take a little more tuning but it would be worth it…the gsr would rev higher and better also so you could use that super 60 have full boost around3.5-4K and still have lots of fun all the way to 8k…much better then the ls imo…wish i could afford one but im just gonna do an ls with a 16g evoIII turbo at 8psi…good luck
Yeah, thanks for the input. I think I am going to go with the gsr, 400 miles on an FI rebuild at 1700 bucks for block ecu and wiring, i think its a steal so I think Im going to go for it. Just hoping the super 60 will at least almost breathe up at 8k
