Bulbs for JDM headlights

I want to do JDM one-piece headlights, but I was wondering if I could later put an HID kit on them, what are the differances between the regualr H4 and the JDM H4H?

Any help appreciated.

An H4 bulb will fit in the light but I think it will hit the glare guard. I’m not 100% sure, use the search option, it’s been discussed several times.
As far as using an HID kit, not a good idea. First of all, you should be concerned with melting the lamp. Second, The lamp’s reflector pattern is designed for a specific bulb at a specific depth- when you put a big fist full of light in there, it distorts the light pattern, and doesn’t do what you want it too.

thanks for the reply, I appreciate the help. As far as I have been told, the HID bulb actually runs cooler than a regular hologen bulb.

It has been done.

The JDM H4H the base is smaller than H4.
