Will an ITR long block fit right into your stock motor mounts?
I don’t know specifically if a type R motor will…
but i know that my B18C, I had to take the mount bracket off the block and use the DA (DB2) bracket. The front mount was nonexsistant on the DC motor.
And the rear lined right up (but i think that depends on your choice of tranny)
ended up buying a b16 longblock! will have pics of build in forced induction section soon!
oooo, im sorry. :stare:
what all do you have to do to swap in a b16 to a r door 1990 gs cuz by the end of this summer i will have 4 grand for my car
I’m a bit confused.
Lets say you have your old B17A1, tranny and all sitting on the floor next to a JDM B18C long block. Along with that you have an aftermarket intake mani for the C.
What would prevent me bolting that JDM B18C in to my 93 DB2 providing I want to use my YS1 and wiring harness?
I’ve never heard anything about the valve cover hitting the hood. Any pics of how bad?
TurboG2teg311, helll of a deal on that motor, but your too far.

… Sounds like you got all the bases covered. Assuming that it is a OBD1 B18C. Off the top of my head I can’t remember if the front mount mounts to the tranny or the block… If it mounts to the tranny that would solve that problem.
The Valve cover hitting the hood is possibly caused by many things.
It could be caused by the mount that came with my cable to hydro conversion kit. If the mount elevates the motor.
My best guess… and this is a problem either way… is that the motor moves WWAAAYY too freakin much. I need an upgraded rear mount and possibly fabricate a front mount for it. This could totally be a case that would be isolated to my setup. I thought that to be the case until another guy I know had the same problem.
it mounts to the trans.
i had a B18C in my G2 and never had any problems with clearance.
Thanks!
