Well, sort of. I got the fronts in perfectly and quickly I might add (Progress), but the rear washer trick didn’t turn out so well. I got the washers on the bolts for the passenger side, but ran into a problem on the driver’s side.
This pic is from the teg tips section of the site. The problem that I had is dealing only with the right bolt in the above pic. I was torquing the bolt down to 29 ft/lbs (as it states in the Helms manual). Just as I’m reaching 29 ft/lbs, the nut that is welded to the body on the otherside of the hole breaks loose. I hear it pop, and I know that I am screwed. Needless to say, the bolt couldn’t be unscrewed from the hole (since the nut is on the otherside with nothing to hold it in place).
So, after 30 minutes with the dremel tool, I cut off the head of the bolt, and am able to get the bracket loose again. The only problem is, now I don’t have a nut on the otherside to bolt into. The nut, with part of the bolt attatched fell through to the otherside. Of course, it didn’t fall to the ground, as expected. So, I tore apart the trunk area (didn’t remove the rear seat), trying to find where it comes through. My only guess is that it comes through near the gas tank. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find where it went through.
Long story short: I am looking for suggestions to my mounting problem. If anyone has had this happen, I am all ears. Thanks guys.
Damn, that sounds like a pain in the ass. My only idea would be to find the back side of that hole somehow and get a regular locking nut to put back there, and just not have it be welded on. Good luck.

That was exactly my thought. However, I can’t seem to find where the hole goes through. It isn’t from the spare tire well, and I couldn’t see where it would go through to the back seat area. My only other guess is that it comes through on the backside of the gas tank area. I just don’t really want to have to drop the tank to figure that out.
if you got a welder there at your home, i know not many do but, see you have enough clearance to get a bolt on this side of the hole an tig it to the wheel well. hopefully you got a lot of washers so that you can cancel them out in place of the protruding nut.
take you back seat out it should be at the base of the shock tower, you might have to remove the plastic piece…in not the dropo the tank and i think you should be able to access it form that way…
