I know when i installed my g grind in my vw i was able to use the stock valve springs . Are there any aftermarket performance cams that can be installed withought the heavy duty springs? If so what cams would be a good choice to run . I’m sorry this question is probably played out but i couldn’t find anything with the search . Thanks!
on a b18a/b you can put both cams and springs in without removing the head.
but with vtec engines you need to pull the head to install the springs—the cams will bolt in without removing the head.
This is pretty cool:http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4292156723
So what do I have to do to put the springs in ? Also which would be a better choice the crower stage2 or stage 3 ?I have the b18a engine with intake and exhaust (header soon)!
what you have to do is get yourself a manual. It should give you all the info you need on how to take the springs out and replace them. You may need some special tools though. I believe they make something that compresses the spring and holds the valve in place (so the valve doesn’t fall into the cylinder).
get a manual and read those directions. If you still have questions then come back for the details.
crower doesn’t really have “stages” of cams. If you want to pass smog, and care about your idle, then get the crower 403’s. If you want more power, don’t care as much about smog, or your idle, then get the 404’s.
