can i bore out my throttle body myself?

can i bore out my throttle body myself? some domestic buddys (wel…not realy buddies.but…) say they can do it themselves, just wonder if it’s actually feasible or just my hopes arrising. i have access to a dremel among other tools. anyone?

ps…maybe a legend of f22 or h22 will be bigger than my stock TB, anythin to save some bucks…hehe. i might be getting a used RC or JG bored out TB from chillinq on this board or whoever he is for $150. which one would’ be better. i dont know much about either busines. thanks.

I know its possible because someone posted that they had done it themselves. Unfortunitally I can’t remember who or under what thread. Hopefully they will repspond to this.

Err… as long as we all interpret the term “boring the throttle body” then we should also agree that one cannot do it with regular household/garage tools.
Making the throttle plate to mach the bigger throttle body diameter requires very precise tools…
I think you are referring to port maching the tb to the im, which is something that can be done at home, with even as little as a dremel.
But these are 2 different things.

Good to know, thanks.

IMO i’d leave it to a pro ie. RC Engineering. One of the worst things you could get from a bored out TB is inconsistent or fluctuating idle if it’s not done properly.

Here is a pictures of my H22A TB. Took a metal shop night class at the local technical school and did it my self on a lathe.
