Can the B18 starter be used with the B16 trans?

I am finally to the point where the motor is going in tomorrow, I think. Anyway I was going to use my old starter since I know that it works well but the drive mechanism sticks out all the time on the B18 starter whereas the B16 starter drive mechanism sticks out only if you turn it. I wasn’t sure if this would make a difference or not.

Your LS starter will work fine.
