i want to purchase a car alarm system with a pager function… what are some good brands?

wondering the same thing here… but I simply want the pager… I looked on the web but all I found was not something I would buy!

I know a member here sells alarms, I just don’t remember his name… I have his e-mail addy, but I don’t wanna post it everywhere… he’ll surely see the topic and drop by!

i called a alram shop here in so. cal asking about the one they were selling. Now get this, the salesperson told me they were un-reliable. he recommended a clifford at the same price. Strange huh? i decided to stick with my good ole, viper.

i got the compustar alarm with the blue remote and i am happy with it also has remote start feature

I remember a friend that had an Alpine on his Merc with a pager. The pager would only work within a certain range (I think it was like 200’ at the time). This was a few years back, so the range might have gotten better.

That would be ME :wink: The only problem is, my distributor quoted me $73 (wholesale) for an add-on pager system, and that’s what I’d sell it to you guys for, but I have no specs whatsoever on it. They don’t have any ads, or a description sheet. It doesn’t have a brand, since they sell in-house electronics (which sell later as Clifford and Viper), and that’s why it’s so cheap. My salesperson told me the best way to find out was simply to buy a unit. I don’t need or want one, but if anyone is interested?? I’ll have to buy two, since that meets my minimum order OR if anyone else needs alarm or car audio accessories…

my car was broken into this morning they stole my cd player, my amp and my subwoofer(entire system)-1000$ worth of audio. :frowning: It’s funny how people that work for things get stuff stolen from lazy POS’s. well i was wondering where i could purchase one of these alarms as well.

I got this in my 4x4, it’s ok… tells you if someone if driving away in your car haha… cost $500CDN installed… You can start that car from 1000m away, you can even stop the car incase you hit the botton by accident

I have a Viper. Pager works great. One thing not a lot of people tell you is that you can upgrade your computer from a viper to a clifford as long as they are newer (not sure when exactly viper redid their line). The viper periferals will plug straight in to a clifford brain.

Also heard lots of good things about alpine alarms…

I too have the same alarm system, it works great ive already tested it out with a couple punks looking around my car when one brushed into the side mirror when i ran outside they were very appologetic.

RSTeg: where did you bought this system from? I know the company is based in Montreal, but what about other distributors?

I checked their site a week ago and found out that they do have a pager that seems to be great! It can be used alone or with an existing alarm (PG-1000). I was thinking of buying one.

for you US guys, this could be a nice deal due to the exchange rate! They quoted me $149CDN+tax ($95US+tax) but I’m pretty sure that if we order more than one, they could make a “group buy” deal!
