I left my car at home while going to college. I came home for the weekend, but my car wont start now. It ran fine before I left. It turns over, but wont start. My dad thinks it might be the fuel pump. Where is the fuel pump located on our cars? I know our cars have a problem with the distributor, but since my car has just been sitting for a month, I dont think it is that. And yes, I did search, but came up with nothing.
Tie a rope to the front towing ring, and pull start it with another car! I’ve had a '89 civic for 12 years that will never start if it’s been sitting for more than 4-6 weeks. Turns over fine but WILL NOT START. I’ve pull started probably 6 times over the years. It always runs just fine after that. Go figger. ![]()

Unfortunately, the only way to access the fuel pump is to drop the gas tank. It’s the same on G2 Teg’s and my '89 Civic. (On G3’s you can get at it from under the seat) The round thing you’ll see under the G2’s rear seat is the fuel gauge sender.
