Alright I replaced the distb 4months ago, along with the fuel filter. 2weeks ago my car wouldnt start. I would crank, and I cranked it for about 5secs and tried it twice, the 3nd time it turned on and it dies right away, 4rd time it started and it was fine… Okay today same exact thing except 3rd time it starts without a problem. I don’t think fuel is the problem because I can smell it.
Mine has the same problem – usually on really hot days. It’s only happened a few times in the 2 years i’ve had my car, but it’s REALLY frustrating when it does happen…
Anyone know what the problem is? Coil or something? My cap & rotor & plug wires are all new and my plugs are fine too…

Your problem sounds like its in the fuel system, To diagnose this open you driver side door turn the ignition key one click until you hear the fuel pump prime, Then try starting it, if it dosent start then try turning the key on/off untill the pump has primed a couple times, if it dose start then the problem is most likely in your fuel delivery system, First buy a couple bottles of blaster fuel injector cleaner and run that in you gas for a couple weeks, And i also recomend replacing your fuel filter and get a 100k tuneup, But just try the filter and cleaner for now Lemme know wat happens -Jeff:)
Yes this only happens on hot days. very odd. it happened today also, and i didnt smell any gas.

Try replacing the main engine relay under the dash its black with a brown bottom, and has approx. 6 wire going to it…_ C-later
Where can i get one of these? and how much?
It does sound like the pgm-fi relay (or main relay). It’s either black or brown and is under the drivers side dash right next to the turn signal relay as I recall. It’s the biggest relay down there. Acura is the only place I know of to get a replacement, and they’re around 40-60 bucks. The heat tends to weaken them for some reason, and if exposed to extended heat, they just stop working for some reason. If you have a manual for the car, you can take yours out and test it first rather than replacing it, although if the problem is intermittent, it may test ok, but be on it’s way out. Good luck
