Catz Zeta

Well guys after searching for the kit for 2 weeks and with no luck i decided to pay the full 180 dollars for a new ATO fuse kit. I had alot of doubt of the kit but I decided to try it out anyways. I got it today and tried to install it as quickily as possible because i needed to study for my test really bad but you know how it is, once you get a new toy for your car you want it on and running. At first i installed it which was very simple althouhg the units are not properlyy positoned and mounted they are working right now.

first they wre making weird noises out of the box so i tried it agian and same thing so i pull them off. the next thing i know my car was not able to start so i had to jump start it. after thinking what could of gone wrong i re test it again. this time leaving the car on. I was finally able to get the kits working…

in order for the kit to work your have to plug in the fused wired to the positive side of the stock fuse. Now as all of you know, there is no marking what so ever about which side is positive or negative on our stock fuses. so i basically had to do trial and error testing and finally got it to work. It was very confusing because it was not the same for all the fuses. for some the postive was up top and for another one it was at the bottom and from left headlights to right headlights they were differnet too. the fuses you need to connect to are 3 and 4 and 9 and 10 i think, 3 and 4 for low beams and 9 and 10 high beams. I think plz check your manual.

Now the results was no dbout noticeable. after 2 seconds bam, even in day time when the sun was out. i can still see the light reflecting off of my other car. I would have to say that it was about 200% brighter. Now I know it is supppose to only do 170% at most and that will be the case for you. However if you have underdrive acces pulleys like me then you should know that at a stop our bulbs do not output at max. and that was what i was comparing to to get the 200% output. the good thing with this kit is that even at idle now my lights are operating at 100% unlike how it was with the pulleys, i can see the lights getting brighter as my rpm goes up hehe.

I went ahead and did a road test to compare 100% output vs the catz zeta output and still i can clearly see differnce in the visibiilty. my light is extremely white right now and bright and the visbiility is one of the best on the road, not counting HID’s. Now obviously this no comparison vs a TRUE HID however comparing to all the other car i think it is one of the brightest out now.

Although some cars tend to have greater visibiiltiy even stock such as the neons. i think it uses H4 bulbs which is the brithest for a dual filment bulb.

our stock bulbs are 9004 (rated around 700 low, 1000 high) and they are no doubt the worse double filament bulbs you can get. i modified mine to fit a 9007 (1000 low, 1250 high, <stock bulbs>)piiaa extreme white and i am very happy with the output. Of course the Piaa extreme are rated 55 watt and output 110 watt so if you are no willing to spend the money you might not be able to get the results i got. these bulbs are around 70 bucks a pair but do come with 1 year warranty and also has output of (1400 low, 1700 high) with the catz zeta i am estimating it is around 1700 LOW, 2000 high). I have been driving all night today and only a few cars comes close to the visibiilty of my car.

Obiviulsy the brithgest setup would be the H3’s with 9005 and 9006 for lows. You can easily modified the low beams to fit the 9005 which is made for highs only. the 9005 have visbiility of around 1900 i think and the TRUE HID kits are around 3200. Just to give it to you for comparison. now considering you get a higher wattage 9005 you’ll be in the 2100’s - 2200;s and then get the catz zeta you’ll prob hit 2400 - 2700. which is almsot same as TRUE HID. although the angle etc might not be as good as the TRUE HID but i’m sure it’ll still look awsome.

Now if anyone wants me to write a better installation instruction for this to put in the teg tips let me know and i will. I will also write installation insructions for converting 9004-9007. just let me know if you guys actaully want to know, so i don’t have to spend like 10 minutes like right now writting about something that no one cares or wants to read about.

goood god that is long

Bump for an old thrad. wher did you get your kit? So do the CATZ Zeta suysystem just somehow improve the stanadard light bulbs output? how so?

They increase the voltage to your bulbs.

I’ll sell you my ATO fuse type for $125 shipped. Its near mint - works just like LODOSS explained - but my install was easy.

why exactly do you ahve to wire it into your fuse panel anwayys. do you kinda wire it inlnie with the hadlight bulb wires at the fuse panel? I might be very intersted in your setup. does it coem with install manuals etc. email me at tommyhang@hotmail.com with subject as “lights” please.
