Cheap turbo fuel managment

A friend made is selling these for $20 (this isnt a for sale thread so plz dont move it). I’m just posting my setup.

I’m using the ghetto afc ($20), DSM 450’s, Radioshack 10ohm 10watt inline resistor on each injector (changes saturated to peak and hold).

You MIGHT be able to get away with 450’s + a 3bar MAP sensor on the stock ecu. I would lower the fuel pressure a tad tho. THe 3 bar map sensor basiclly cuts 33% off the voltage, it does the job of the afc. The AFC I have has 2 settings, 1 is basiclly for idle, theo ther is for everything else  Not the greatest but it was only $20. I got it from a guy on honda-tech.com named “filetofit”, his email is chris_hart11@yahoo.com.

My total fuel managment costs came down to:
injectors: $50 shipped
afc: $20 shipped
resistors: $3 local

total: $73

just giving you cheap guys heads up

server is being gay, right click, copy the path, and paste in browser. i’ll try to fix.

finally i get to see how it looks like. i’ve heard about the same thing and was wondering about it. how’s it working for you? how much boost are you pushing out with it? and i don’t see anything about a fuel pump. are you using the stock one? cus if so, looks like i’ll be able to add boost to my car a lot sooner than i was expecting.

Waiting on a few parts to come in, so i’m running zero boost. But I do have the 450cc injectors in my car with the afc. It idles a tad rougher than stock but it more than streetable :stuck_out_tongue:

You cant get it to idle any better with a real afc sooooo… it does it’s job

interesting, could some one explain a little more how they work? And whats a “3 bar map sesor”, I know what a map sensor is but 3 bar?

Here’s another product you guys might wanna take a look at.

That guy is ripping u off, its pretty much the same thing I listed, but he put it in an enclosure and added a few extra tuning adjustments, then slaps on an “introductury” price of $100. If you’re gonna have a high markup, it should be pretty and digital. Anyone with a soldering iron and a local radioshack could make that for under $20

ok i got my 450’s and am a long ways to go with my turbo kit. i planned on the smc but i want ignition tuning so im gonna take the plunge and go with chipping and using ghettodyne. so in the meantime, i picked up the parts (as well as some afr parts) and am going to solder my first circuit

now if one pot is for idle and the other wot, what is the 3rd for? also no one ever says what kind of resistors to use, does it matter? there are so many. i guess i dont mind spending 20 more cents for one with lower tolerances.

i was looking around for filetofit’s instructions and found a few other designs in which you needed to disconnect the o2 sensor so as to keep the ecu in open loop and not rely on the o2 for idle. then when youre done fine tuning wot you reconnect the o2 and let it handle the idle/part throttle. - is this necessary with filetofit’s?

also what wire is what on the map sensor and any assembly/tuning advice would be much appreciated!
