Clutch "thunks" after shifting

After I disengage the clutch, I can hear a “thunk” noise. Is it a clutch or CV axle problem? Anyone had this happen to?

is it from 1st–>2nd when you let the clutch out real quick? if so, that’s normal on our tegs. i ease it out when shifting 1st–>2nd.

Yeah, it’s semi-quick clutching in the first gears. Normal? Man, that’s gonna get a bit annoying. Anyway to fix it? New clutch?

yes normal… actually most people say that the 1st–>2nd is a pretty HUGE “THUNK” if they pull the clutch out fast… the g3’s do it too… just not as violent as our tegs.

thanks for the help

have you ever considered a crook engine mount?

what’s that? :shy:

I’ve driven 2 1998 CRV’s that did the same thing.

Back when my clutch was goin out

I had the cable adjusted damn near all the way. I noticed after I let out on the clutch, the pedal came back and made a thump noise. Check how much play your pedal has. If its a conciderable amount, thats probably your problem.

release arm damper?

Hey guys, I have the same problem with my teg. So bad it scared the crap out of my brother when we were doin 0-60 runs with his G-Tech Pro.

Anyways I’m gonna check my clutch pedal adjustments and make sure everything’s spec… but I was lookin at the diagram of the clutch assembly in the helms manual… does anyone know if it’s maybe this “release arm damper” that causes the problem? if it was worn down, it would travel further, right? just a thought! i’m gonna try and check mine!
