Coilover question.

I am planning on installing my coilovers over the weekend but have a few questions before I do. The set came with 3 little bags of little rubber 0-rings.
There are :
-8 flat rings with a 3 inch diameter,
-16 round rings with a 1 inch diameter and
-4 flat rings with a 1/2 inch diameter.

My question is where do all these rubber rings go onto the coilover sleeve setup? and what is there purpose??

thank you

chris

big ones just wrap around the shock to prevent knocking

not sure where the little ones go, i guess wherever metal might contact metal making noises. dont go nuts on the top mount, as youll need room for reinstallation

The Round Rings…

If the round rings are of varying sizes, you don’t have to use all of them. They are spacers that go between your strut body and the adjustable sleeves. The reason there is so many of them is because different brands of struts have slightly different diameters. Make sure they’re not loose when you put them on though. Although you don’t have to use all of them, try to use as many as you can. Two per corner should be okay, I managed to get three on per corner, making that a total of twelve.

Hope that helps.

yup, thats it. the o rings are there to keep the threaded collar in place (because its much bigger around than the shock body). Use as many of the o-rings as possible, and make sure they fit tight. Then use some duct tape to secure them to the shock body, slip the threaded collar down over the o rings (should be a really tight fit), and walla.

cool. thanks guys! I’ll let you know how in install goes. Anyone happened to have pics of coilover suspension setups? I used the search but came up empty handed…

not really anything that’ll help you with your install, but hey, i might as well post it.
