nice job on the rebuild man. to bad your not close to jersey to help me out on my rebuild of my original b17:hump:
Some minor updates from today:
New gaskets on the IM:
IM installed with fuel rail, injectors:
And a sneak peak at my valve cover work (still to be completed):
That’s all till tomorrow!
inspiring
have you considered a different intake manifold like a blox one over the gsr one?
Is that a canadian flag valve cover?
^im with stupid lol
g2surgen: I did think about buying one of those manifolds, but I don’t particularly like the runner angles, they are very different from the OEM version; Honda engineered the intake ports to match the manifold runners, I’m banking that their R&D is better. Also, I want to keep the powerband strong in the midrange and I think the OEM manifold will do that best, and make good power as well. We’ll see though, if I can get my hands on a Skunk/Blox version to compare after the motor is tuned I may change my mind!
ya the gsr mani is designed for mid range power with drivability in mind
keep up the work i really appreciate that someone local is doing such a sick build
Lookin good steve!!..keep it up…Man i got to go by your place and have a beer!!..and check out the build…!!!
there’s a guy on revscene selling a victorX manifold
Those things are massive!
good work on the build! can’t wait 'till it’s finished! Gonna be starting mine up soon too! Woot!
Looks excellent!
02 Winnipeg crew
Thanks guys! Mike bro, haven’t had you drop by in forever, is that a threat? haha
Good to see you still around Chris!! '02 was a looong time ago all of a sudden eh?
Updates from today:
Parts that arrived (Rywire harnesses, Outlaw Engineering gasket kit, complete fuel system fittings/hoses, FPR, filter, pump, Endyn block adapter:
Installed the Endyn adapter:
Outlaw gasket kit installed, throttle body as well:
Currently having issues installing the stainless lines into the hose ends, I guess I need some better methods or hacksaw blades, cause shit ain’t workin’! Also, the Walbro pump I have is too long for the OEM bracket and did not come with a screen FTL … more updates next weekend. I do realize that throttle body looks nasty (and has battle scars haha), but I want to run it for tuning, and add an aftermartket one down the road … see what kind of gains for comparison’s sake.
i love this thread even more…good job on the build, cant wait to see more updates.
nice work
try putting tape where your gonna cut aound the stailess steal line when your hacksawing it and ya buy a new blade it will make a cleaner cut
Hey bro, whats that piece in between the jumper harness and the OBD conversion distributor adapter.
**edit.
Double posted. Oops.
synsei: that’s the second plug for the distributor adapter.
Sorted out the fuel pump issue, turns out they gave me a universal 255lph pump instead of the Integra version, went back and got the right one and some cash back! Also, I discovered that using a Dremel and a cutting wheel (with tape still around the hose) works MUCH better for cutting the stainless hosing. More pics to come soon, hopefully my mounts arrive this Monday!
What is up buddy? Awsome build by the way.
I do need some info on some parts you bought that I think I will need soon for my SWAP.
My Teg is a 92 GS model 4 Door. DB1
She is an OBD1 already with CHROME Tunning on the ECU with a Chip. I am BOOSTING 5 lbs now on my Stock LS motor.
Now I am going V-Tec with a Built B16 Head on a B20 01 CRV Stock Block. I was wondering were to get some lil things to make the Swap easier for my mechanic an I in like 2 weeks.
My cuzin told me to buy the LS/V-Teg conversion kit that will come with all needed. I searched on Ebay and came up on some nice ones from Golden Eagle. The sandwich Oil Plate on the kits I am looking at look great for Boosting and V-Tec oil lines. Then I was thinking that instead of cutting wires here and there maybe there is a place to buy the Conversion Wire’s for the swap. My Best friend told me something like that.
If you could tell me were I can purchase these items, I would really appreciate it…Thanks and keep us all posted with your awsome build.
synsei: that’s the second plug for the distributor adapter.
Ahhh. Noted. Thanks and keep up the inspirational work!
No prob thanks bro, you too!
Updates from today:
Installed flywheel
Installed pressure plate/disc
And a quick pic of one wheel mounted (disregard the rusted rotor!)
Been kinda quiet with pictures lately mostly because I have been waiting for parts (mounts, header, catalytic converter, chipped ecu). I will have the mounts this week, so the engine will be going in pretty soon! Also have been reinstalling the fuel tank with the Walbro pump, installing some generic coilover sleeves (temporary to adjust for ride height, will be going the GC/Koni route in the summer), converting fuel supply/return hardlines to -6AN fittings, and reinstalling the exhaust. 2 weeks from today will be the turnkey (crosses fingers!!!).
looking great man!!
