compression on ls/vtec

I was wondering what kind of compression results i should be looking for on my ls/vtec with a gsr head 81.5mm bore and 9:1 je pistons, gonna test it this week and wanted to know a round about numbers to be looking for. I got my motor in this weekend and it runs like a dream, i just want to check all of my angles before i start buying turbo stuff

OT, Does your motor smoke at all? Or did machining out the block to 81.5mm fix the “blow by” problem most LS/VTEC’s have?

i did mine with mahle pistons 9:1 with gsr head i got 170 to 180 around there

no it doesnt smoke at all, doesnt smell like it burns oil at all, i was just wondering for name sake, plus when you do ls/vtec the compression raises a bit so regular ls 9:1 pistons would give a bit higher compression, but these pistons ar gsr pistons and give a flat 9:1 even with it bein ls/vtec so i think it will be lower then the stock 170 or 180, not to mention it has a bigger bore so that accounts for a lower number as well i believe because it creates a slightly bigger area. Im gonna test it in about 2 weeks or so when i go back to charleston, so i will let everyone know what it reads

I also would like to know the answer to this because it is similar to my own build. It’s probably been answered before, but if someone would take a minute out of their busy schedule to help us out it would be greatly appreciated.
