Coolant hose burst, hose replaced, still overheating?

Hey, i had a coolant hose burst on me, the one that goes off a stem where the big rad tube is on the side of the engine like right under the distributor and goes back and up into a stem pointing down.

anyway, i wrapped it enough so i could get home, but i def got into the red zone for a little before i initially stopped to check it out. I got some tubing from advance auto with the screw tightener clamps and put it in. The first attempt the upper stem part was spewing so i tightened it and started up. it eventually starting to creep into the hot zone though. The only spot i could see steam coming from was behind that metal thing that has the pgfmi sticker on it, i believe its called the manifold, it had 4 pipes off it going into the engine. What could this be?

The steam is likely coming off of the exhaust manifold BELOW the intake manifold… did you bleed the cooling system to get the air out? If all you did was fill up the radiator when you replaced the hose, you need to bleed the system to get all of the air out… the water pump cannot pump air and the car will overheat as a result.
