Cracked rim :(

One of my rims is cracked :frowning: It has a lil crack on the inside of the rim that causes the air to leak from the tire. What is weird is that it leaked twice on my parents who used the car when I was in school and then when I pumped up the tire again I have had no troubles with it for I’d say 2 months until now. So I went to pump it up twice leaving it in the trunk and the air leaked. I take it to a tire place, they pump it up, stick it in water and the damn thing holds air in. I won’t take any chances. What I would like to know if there’s any way I can fill that crack with something? I have no idea if it would work. I know I can put a tube in but every place is bitchin about it because it’s a low profile, because they won’t guarantee it and because, according to them, the tube is going to last for a week. I don’t know how much truth there is in that but I would appreciate if anybody could help me. TIA.

what kind of rim you got? if you got stock rim you should just get another one. if they are aftermarket ones, see if you can get the rim fixed somewhere. make sure it doesn’t exceed at least 75 percent of a new rim of your rim. cuz if it does, just get it replaced… cuz i had that happened to me before but i never was able to get it replaced since mine were hard to find.

I got some kind of rims… I got them free off a friend of mine who had them on a civic for a while but the civic was his father’s and blah blah blah… basically his pops was ready to throw them out but I went there and picked them up. We were both surprised to learn that there’s a crack. Basically because they were free I want to put the least amount of money into them (besides the fact that college students are generally broke). But thanx for the advice.
