DB2 Content Inside

This was a good week. I took a few days off of work for my birthday and got a lot of stuff done on the car. The bay is still far from done, but lots of progress was made. I ran out of wire for the welder, so here’s where I’m stuck for a bit.

This is my life now

Bay progress

4

I took a small chunk of metal to the cheek while grinding, so I took a break from the bay to do some work on the engine.

New OEM oil pickup

I went up to ICB and spoiled myself on my birthday.

New Vision front strut bar

New Project Mu Lug Nuts

The UPS guy was very kind to me this week.

New Tanabe Medallion Touring cat back

New Go Autoworks Intake Piping

Saved the best for last. Ellis at Fortune Auto built my 500 series coil overs. Swift spring upgrade, 12kg front and 10kg rear.

I set the pre load and installed the rears today. Fronts won’t be going on until the bay is done.

Hopefully the next update will include primer and filler.

wow, lots of quality parts. GLWB

Thank you sir! Hoping to get things moving a bit quicker now

Tanabe still makes the Hyper Medallion for DA’s?

Where did you get yours? I’m planning on replacing my Touring Medallion . . .

My apologies, fixed. It’s the Touring Medallion.

how are those 12k and 10k springs? I got FnF’s with 10k and 8k Eibach upgrade and its a bit stiff but not sk2 stiff…

I haven’t had a chance to feel them yet, still have quite a few things to finish before I’ll even get the chance. My assumption is that I’m going to love them and it’s going to be the best ride ever :cross:

In for the new suspension as well. . . The way your car sits now, looks it’ll take time before you can review those Fortune Auto’s. . . And i noticed you opted for stiffer rear springs. . . And those extra $300+ Swift upgrade put this setup against other expensive systems like AMR, Tein Flex, KW, Cusco etc. . .as far as DC integra application that can be fit in our cars.

So hopefully the cost can be justified especially with those upgrades. .
Did it come with dyno graph? Im curious if they have to revalve the shocks due to the upgrade and diff spring rate. . . How do they do it? Do they dyno it with the springs? Too many questions i know. . .

Again, Very very interested on how these will perform . . . Cant wait. . .

Oh it’s definitely going to be a bit. They keep offering overtime at work, and I like money, so I keep committing to it.

When I had contacted them originally, they advised that based on my set up and planned use of the car, I get the 11K front 9K rear set up. I ended up opting for a slightly stiffer set up.

The swift springs were a no brainer for me, I have read nothing but good things about them. After reading reviews on zilvia about them (for some reason, you can’t find any Honda/Acura reviews on them other than a somewhat lacking one on S2Ki), I saw Terry (from Fortune Auto) highly recommended the upgrade. Less coils=less weight, ride comfort is better, and spring rate is more accurate with less variance.

I was hoping to get the dyno charts for my specific coilovers, however they were not included. The charts are available on their site though. The way I understand, Fortune valves their shocks to handle a specific range. I should be able to go up or down 2k without having to re valve the shocks, but anything more isn’t recommended. I can’t wait to get these broken in and see how this thing handles. The coils, tires, wight savings, and rear sway bar set up should make for a nimble little weekend warrior. Also can’t wait to be using that Nardi to point this thing where I want it to go :hyper:

Space is precious in the garage lately, so I threw the exhaust on the car to get it out of the way. The fitment on this thing was absolutely PERFECT. Couldn’t have asked for a better product, highly recommend the Tanabe to my fellow G2 enthusiasts.

Unwrapping with the T1R exhaust hangars

Shiny

It’s hard to get a decent pic here, there’s about a foot of space between the car and the wall and shitty lighting

I love it

^^ very nice sir

now i regret buying the rays lug nuts and not getting the ones you got there. since those don’t mark wheels up

Thank you kindly! I’m very happy with the exhaust. The quality and the fitment surpassed my expectations. I wanted a polished RS*R, but they’re so hard to find in good condition. People that have them usually don’t let them go, and for good reason.

I was planning on doing a custom exhaust, using the Kteller kit with Vibrant mufller, resonator, and v bands, but the cost of materials and labor would have ended up being around $1,000, so I ended up getting this for half of that.

I was set on either these or the Project Kics. The floating seat design was a must.

To be honest, I mis read ICB’s description and I thought that these were heptagon locking nuts, but they’re regular hex. Oh well, JDM baller stuff

Another piece from DevSportUSA showed up today.

Power steering loop kit

Hopefully I’ll get some time in the next few days to work on the bay.

Please let me know how this goes. I thought that there were more hoses to loop than were in their kit which deterred me from ordering.

To be honest I was confused by this as well when I placed the order, but it works out because it’s exactly what I wanted. I’m going to be using a breather set up (I already have an extra Tilton reservoir, just need to find it in the pile) and the other line will spliced for the breather. I’ll definitely post pics when I get there, but I need to finish the bay before I start diving into other things. Trying to stay focused (which isn’t easy considering the back pain involved with being hunched over in the bay)

I know your pain. Bay work suuuucks! I vow to never shave another bay in my life. Looking awesome though man! I keep getting more and more jealous of your parts pile as it grows. I’m really interested in hearing how you like the fortunes. I believe you’re one of only a couple DA owners to purchase them so far.

Agreed, one and done! Never again! I was actually expecting some of the more purist guys to call me out for molesting a DB2 like this, nothing yet.

I’m honestly running out of space, my room is pretty much a parts pile. Can’t see the floor or any shelves in my closet, it was not a great life choice.

I was actually wondering if there was anyone else that has the Fortunes. I still have yet to really see any Honda/Acura FF platform write a review of these. I just can’t wait to feel how they ride, and the fact that essentially every other piece of suspension is zero mile along with them is gong to be noice.

I want some opinions on this.

Miracle X Bar vs EM Racing Z Bar

I know they are older threads and DC integras but since Fortune Auto is a little more local to my side, I see more Hondas around here with them. All I could dig up within 5 seconds in the for sale thread. Just thought I would provide in case you would like to reach out to them.

Well I registered, but I’m guessing that this site has the minimum post requirement to view the classifieds. Can’t view the posts.
