Trying to get a replacement DIN digital media receiver is getting difficult and the options—at least those with high pre-amp voltage—are slim.
Checking Crutchfield over the years, I’ve noticed it’s really dropping off. I’ve been using a fantastic Sony model for over a decade in both my Integras, but unfortunately, the electronics are dying and buttons are unresponsive. I got a Pioneer replacement and it’s fine, but I really miss that Sony. You can tell they’re not putting in the effort into these products anymore especially with respect to information display.
Check out what I can see on the Sony vs the Pioneer. I have to deal with CONSTANT SCROLLING with the Pioneer to see song titles and settings, vs one-screen displays with the Sony.
I have 2 more setups just like this and they all work, actually every radio i owned from the 90’s works as they should. The older stuff is built better then these new media players. I bought a sony media player for my s10 and it died after 1.5 years so i put a old cd player in it lol
Yeah I feel like I should keep these Sonys from 00s. They work but the buttons aren’t responsive. It seems like one particular thing went wrong that would be fixable.
It’s crazy that they are half the size for the same output too though.
