i recently replaced my oil pan gasket because it was going bad, and now i’m going to be replacing my oil pan because it leaks like a bia, and i can’t remember what i have to remove to take the oil pan out.
do i have to remove anything besides the oil pan itself?
also, this gasket is like 500 miles old, can i just reuse it?
Clean the mating surface of the oil pan and the engine. I would recommend replacing the gasket since it is very inexpensive. You might want to also inspect the bolts and see if any of them need replacement.
The I-beam and bottom-half of the header are the hardest to remove throughout the whole procedure. If I remember correctly, you do have to remove some kind of plate that covers the clutch, but I’m not 100% sure if this is referred to as the “clutch cover”.
