I Am Having Some Trouble With My Downpipe, Looking Under The Hood My Exhaust Housing Is On The Right, I Took Out The A/c So Everything Fits, But The Damn Crossmember Is In The Way And I Cant Get The Right Bends To Fit Without Hitting Crossmember Or Oil Pan Or Coming Close To My Oil Return Line. Its Damn Tight, Does Anyone Have Pics Of How There Down Pipe Looks Or Was Done This Way. The Dp Should Be 3" But I Had To Reduce To 2 1/2 To Make The Bends, I Have Been Cutting And Welding And Still Tight. Someone Said To Cutt The Crossmember A Little To Make The Pipe Fit???
I think a 2.5 inch downpipe is doable with the crossemember still intact but when going to 3 inches it has to be notched a bit in order to make it fit, you could try doing that but if you notch it too much remember to brace it with something so it will keep its strength
3" downpipe with OE untouched X-member has been done but it’s definantly not easy. Just have to get it peeerfect.
i can fit a 3 inch downpipe with out touching the stock crossmemember
do you have any pics
i just got done making mine. Its 3", but what i did was take 3" pipe, cut triangles in it, and weld them together to make a tighter radius. I’ll try to get some pictures for ya.
no, i just did a test fit, im using the love fab manifold and t3, 60 trim but its almost touching the front engine motor mount
i checked out that thread, but the downpipe comes of the left when looking under the hood. i can do that. but my down pipe comes from the other side. it has to come off the turbo then like a u bend but tight. then like a 90 near where my oil return line is and then straight back into the exhaust, i have been cutting and welding with 2 1/2 and i almost have a fit but i have to shave a little off of the X member to get the bend off of the turbo. i will go with the 2 1/2 if i can get it to fit i just kinda wanted to use 3" right off the turbo and full 3" exhaust but if i cant then the 2 1/2 will do.
