Drop question

If I put 2" drop springs on what problems if any will I see? I’ll be running stock shocks and steelies. Will I need to gett a new alignment? What shocks should I get to compliment the lowering springs? Thanks.

When i did this i need a camber kit and an allignment, camber isn’t gonna chew up your wheels to bad but bad toe will. So get an allignment soon after you get your springs installed. I didn’t get shocks, maybe next year, the stock ones are still ok.

Do I definitely need camber kit for the front? How much will this cost?

you need a camber kit for sure (i used to have a 2" drop, so i know). But its not a super urgent thing. Oh, and don’t bother getting your car aligned until AFTER you put on the camber kit

like burnie said, toe will burn tires faster than camber will. And putting on the camber kit will throw you toe WAY out of whack. So after you put the camber kit on you need to get it aligned ASAP.

you should be able to find a front camber kit for about $100-$150. And then do the rear with washers like explained in the teg tips (costs $10-$15).

You don’t need camber in every case.
My teg i dropped it three inches in the back, and three inches in the front. i did not needed camber. Nor did it mess up my aligment. i’m not saying that you guys are wrong. I have heard that as soon as your drop your car your aligment gets thrown off like crazy, but mine didn’t.

Nor did my friend who had a 2000 civic with 3 inches droped all four sides, stock shocks.

p.s. my wheels did not camber so it didn’t eat my tires…[/B]

Photeg, I missed you at the last auto-x, it was a lot of fun. I got first in Novice against a new carrera convertable and an S2000, very excited. Did you happen to pick up that pick up that plastic hood support clip? You will definantly want to get some shocks with those springs. What did you get? Eibach, Neuspeed, H&R, some other brand? If Eibach, I would go with Tokico Illuminas, if Neuspeed or H&R I would go with KYB AGX’s, or Koni’s if you can afford it. Send an email my way sometime.
