Well guys, I am not about to fork out a bunch of money to do the dual filament bumper light conversion. At my local auto parts store, what bumper light sockets would I ask for so I can pull this off? I have one crazy blinker going on and its getting on my last nerve already lol. I would really appreciate the help guys because I have been meaning to do this for a while now. TIA ![]()

hey dude go to a dismantler i got mine for 10 bucks each including the bulbs. you just have to splice into the wires. if theres no dismantlers around you i can get some for you
yeah is this a difficult mod? would it make it more difficult that I have an aftermarket wiring harness? Do you have to take bumper off?
this is a fairly easy mod with little or no modification to bumper light and just some wiring, I did it to mine and I have the amber bumpers painted too and it looks pretty good at night. A tip or some advice, when you do hook up the sockets to the bumpers make sure its a tight fit and has the rubber ring on them, because last year mine leaked and it really messed my bumpers out, I air dryed them for like 3 daysā¦

really messed your bumpers out? You mean bumper lights right? Mine leaked the other day, I think I need to reseal?
yeh I meant my bumper lights,
moisture got in them and it was really bad,
so I had to air dry them, and I tried drying with the hair dryer too, but try them with cool air, dont want to melt your bumpers right??

Donāt mean to revive a really old thread, but just wanted to let you guys know that I used dual filament sockets from an extra pair of tailights harness and it is working out great! First off no more fast blinker. The bumpers always stay on and blink to be more safe. When the parking lights are on, they alternate blinking from the corner lens and the bumper lens. When the parking lights are off, the corner lens and bumper lens blink at the same time.
not to continue reviving an old thread, but I heard of people having problems with their bumper lights burning/melting when they remained on⦠is this stilla problem with dual filament?

nope because with the dual filament, the turn signal portion still acts as a turn signal, while the other portion that stays on is only like 5 watts.
woah glad to hear
doing it once i get the parts needed
I used to have them always stay on with single filament lights that didnāt blink. Never had a problem with them melting. Then went duals with amber painted lenses. Still no problems.
So I have Silverstar heads/fogs. Now that I have the dual filament bulbs, they look really yellow compared to the SS. I know Sylvani makes the SS for the 97teg socket that I now have in, however, is there anything for the corner lense? I just donāt want to have that yellow look, not looking for anything brighter, just whiter.
got pics of your headlights to give us an idea? You want bright natural white, super white, bluish white??? ![]()
Well, I just ordered a set of PIAA extreme white corner bulbs, Iāll probably get the bumper light bulbs also once i get these in and Iām sure they are what Iām looking for. I just donāt want any blue, too āriceā for me, IMO. But Iāll post some pictures when I get it done. Doing some interior work too so, weāll see shortly.
did that mod when i first got the car⦠bumper lenses melted:(
Really? will the dual filament? They really shouldnāt, SpikeyMike was right, the filament that stays on is hardly bright/hot enough to melt your lenses. maybe you had the wrong one staying on? That or maybe you had cheap after market lenses in? Dunno⦠shouldnāt have melted though.
nah⦠OEM⦠I dunno they just melted one day⦠the car had been on for about 20 hrs, and I had my parking lights on (it was raining the whole day)
20 hours??? Good grief! I have been on long trips but how often will you have it on for 20 hours? How about rest stops?
