Dyno Tuned today, had problems and some Q's

Like the title says I went to get tuned today and the power dropped off around 4.7k as you can see from the sheet. The tuner gave me some suggestions and I was wondering if some of the experienced guys had any suggestions or ideas to fix my troubles. The tuner said I should easily be able to hit my goal of 250hp with my turbo and setup. I’m feeling really disappointed after months of hard work :worry:

Thanks

whats your full setup

All you’ve said is:

“Crap, pwoer falling off at 4.7K!”

We need to know your engine specs and turbo setup specs and what ems.

What are you doing for boost control?

yeah thats sad :violin: looks more like a bolt on dyno run good luck with that. Wh
en in doubt turn up the boost

B18 mildly ported head with a 3 angle
je 9.0 pistons
eagle rods
custom manifold / 2 1/2 downpipe
12x6x2 intercooler
custom pipes
tial wastegate/bov
walpro 255
dsm 450’s
Turbonetics t3/t4 50trim .48exhaust stage 2
using zdyne for ems
greddy profec spec 2 B boost controller

are you sure the boost ih holding to redline?

I’d take a guess and say NO. Just a guess.

a stage 2 turbine with a .48 turbine housing, good spool but bad top end. you don’t have any datalogs of your boost vs. rpm?

Damn bro I can see why you would be dissapointed. If that were me I probably would’ve shit my pants when I saw those numbers. Hopefully it’s nothing big and you can fix it easily. Good luck…

No zdyne does not have datalogs. Bad top end maybe but 4.7k I don’t think so. The tuner said he thought there was a bad boost leak or something mechanically wrong.

what size exhaust? I’ve seen a couple of cars loose power after ~5k because of a 2.25 or smaller exhaust.

The exhaust is a 2.5 from turbo back. I checked the car today and the coupler from the charge pipe to the tb was nearly off from the boost this could have been part of the problem.

Could be…um

Yeah, thats def your problem.

yea im with xenocron on this one.

one of my friends had a very similar situation, though it was not on a honda/acura. long story short, we learned that duck tape holds 10 psi that day haha

that would be your problem!

i got some duct tape at work that withstands 200mph winds, its that nascar shit!

yea thats definitely your problem. you have to go over all of your clamps and make them super tight on the charge pipes. if theyre not, then once you hit boost they will pop right off and no more boost. its like an all motor car then instead of being boosted.

yea the first night i got my car turbo’d i blew off the charge pipe that comes off the compressor doing a wideband pull. it was like 3am and all of a sudden i stopped making boost, i was like crap i blew it up already. if you have trouble getting the hoseclamps to stay on, try t bolts clamps, they might be a lil more money but work well
