i have the quick release i need a hub to go on my car. i heard ebay quick releases break easy but i have the quick release i just need a hub would i be okay with an ebay one?
Same as with most anything… You get what you pay for. Expecting a cheaper product to be as durable as one that is constructed out of better/stronger materials is a high bar to match.
I’d feel better withn eBay hub versus an eBay steering wheel though.
will the quick release fit the ebay hub?

lol aint that the truth…
issue you could run into with the ebay parts is they use softer aluminum. over time the bearings that lock the wheel into place round out the edged of their seats and can create a condition where one day you go to turn and the steering wheel pops off on you, or starts skipping left or right in it’s seating.
Mind you I am only speaking on horror stories I have heard from guys who have had these issues happen not from direct experience.
you have too remember that alot of the cheapo knock ebay stuff is mass produced in china and not up to american or known manufacturer standards. you may get lucky and get a good one, but in the end it ids always a crap shoot. things like this are probably not worth risking your life to save a buck on or try to look cool… just saying…
Yeah eBay is good for some stuff, Idk how I would feel about something that critical though.
May I also add in that the eBay one is most likely a replica of NRG. Which is a replica of Works Bell. Idk how safe I would feel with a hub that’s a replica of a replica. Nobody knows the true R&D they go thru, if any. Or material quality as stated above.
i dotn think i’d go cheap on something that i have to use every day/minute/millisecond while i’m in my car
+1
It will never happen, but I wish the sub par copy parts market would stop on ebay. It’s china junk. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it doesn’t matter and a generic piece of metal posses no threat or downside. But would you really trust your life with an unknown, questionable part? People are constantly making posts on forums praying that people will give them the ok when they know in the back in their minds that it’s sketchy. Buy the real thing and never worry. I’ll skip my rant on not supporting counterfeit/copy parts because that’s a separate issue. Cars are dangerous to both you, passengers and other drivers. One reason it’s an expensive hobby is because safety is no joke. It’s expensive, accept it. It’s not for everyone because of this, you’re better off sacrificing something like spending or waiting to save up. Don’t ever sell yourself short on safety.
Back in the day, my friend bought a civic and the previous owner installed an eBay short shifter. The damn thing snapped when he rocked through the gears. Luckily nothing bad happened, it was hilarious at the time. However, it won’t be funny if your hub snaps while your doing 75, damage your car or get into a serious accident.
Sorry if I seem wound up but the thing that really gets me is that if you asked this question to someone who races professionally, a mechanic or older hobbyist who works on classics, they would all give the same response…“hell no, I wouldn’t trust my life on that”. Why would the rules be different for an Acura Integra? There seems to be a lot of people out there that think like though…

i have the quick release i just need the hub. it bolts on.
I’d suggest that unless the quick release in made by NRG or Works Bell you just sell it and save up for the NRG setup at the very least.
Yeah, I am even weary of NRG… But please don’t settle for less than that. For the sake of your safety and everybody on the road around you.
